Innovation cheques for batch 3 complete

All innovation cheques for batch 3 have been issued. Since the launch of the first batch of innovation cheques on 1 June 2011, at total of 297 applications have been submitted to CTI. All 133 of the innovation cheques worth a total of CHF 1 million have been issued with an applicant success rate of 62 %.

Effective immediately, no more applications will be accepted for this batch of innovation cheques.

The documents required for application processing will remain posted on this Web page for applicants who have been approved for innovation cheque funding.

We would like to remind project partners who have received an innovation cheque that work on their innovation project must be completed within a year of issuance of the innovation cheque.

Facts and figures

Half of the 215 applications received came from mini-companies of up to five employees. In 41% of the cases, the applicant will be working with a research institute for the very first time. In around 71% of the cases, this was the first time that the applicant had applied for CTI funding. The fact that most applicants had never had contact with CTI before shows the tremendous amount of interest in innovation cheque funding.
